UV is fast becoming an alternative to heat set printing. A big upgrade from traditional cold web printing, UV inks cure instantly when passed under high intesity UV lamps. UV inks allow the cold set printer to run on Supercalendered and coated stock. Another benefit of adding UV is that it eliminates any offsetting problems which are always a major concern for cold set printers. And, there are no pollution control issues! Adding UV is a much smaller investment than adding heat set.
